About Laurie Stewart

Laurie StewartLaurie Stewart is an attorney, guest speaker and writer. She has a degree in theatre from California State University Fullerton, and a doctorate in law from Chapman University School of Law in Orange, California.

Laurie dabbled in theatre, film, television, and commercials before becoming a sales director for a Fortune 500 Company. From there she attended law school, where she published articles, including Reviving Religious Liberty in America (2003) 8 Nexus J. Op. 151, which is an historical examination of the First Amendment establishment clause and the original intent of the framers of the United States Constitution.  As a Dean’s Fellow, she taught legal research to law students. Following law school Laurie worked as an associate attorney in a law firm which specialized in corporate and insurance defense. She served on the board of the Orange County chapter of the Federalist Society, Orange County Women Lawyers and Marketplace Women of Orange County.

As an attorney, Laurie is active in the defense of religious liberty and traditional values. She and her husband, John, are both allied attorneys with the Alliance Defense Fund, an organization of Christian attorneys committed to protecting religious freedom, the sanctity of life and traditional values. Laurie has worked with several other public interest groups, including Pacific Justice Institute, Center for Constitutional Jurisprudence and Center for Individual Freedom. In 2006, she received the C. William Carlson award from Pacific Justice Institute for her “exceptional level of integrity and commitment.” Laurie has been a guest speaker on the marriage issue at Whittier Law School and Chapman University School of Law. She was featured in a documentary on the marriage issue called “Marriage Matters to Kids” (www.marriagematterstokids.org)

Laurie is President of Rolling Stone Ministries, a national and international organization committed to training Christian leaders and defending the Christian faith. She is a popular speaker at universities, women’s seminars and conferences, and is a frequent speaker for church groups. Laurie and John have been involved in mission trips to Kenya in 2007, 2008 and 2009, where Laurie spoke in several churches. In 2009 they traveled to Chennai, India to teach and train leaders.

Laurie is a former self-proclaimed liberal feminist. She inspires, engages and challenges women to re-evaluate the assumptions and presuppositions thrust upon them by the post-modern culture. Since Laurie grew up in Iowa, they return every year and spend the summer. The rest of the year when they are not traveling, Laurie and John and their daughters live in Southern California.
